Frequently Asked Questions - About our Technical Requirements & Stage Production

1.  Does The Park Avenue Band require a stage?  If so, what size should the stage be?

No, but we prefer one.  It will give your event that "Pro" look.   Ideally, the stage would be at least 20 feet across the front and
back, and 16 feet deep (front to back).  Many stages are larger --- no problem!  Some are smaller --- we'll make do!  Stage height
should be a minimum of 1 foot.

2.  Does The Park Avenue Band supply the PA system and the light show?

Yes we can!  And we do... regularly!  Some Festivals and and Fairs provide a system for all of the entertainers,
                  as do some clubs.

3.  How much electrical power does the band require for a show?

#3 separate 20 Amp circuits is best.  #2 separate 20 Amp circuits will get us by.  #3-4 separate 15 amp circuits
might work.  We bring some Electrical extension cables, but it's nice (and faster!) when the proprietor/venue
has the electrical plug-ins (wall sockets and/or extension cables) already 'in place' at the stage area.

4.  Should we plan on providing food and beverages for the band and crew?

Yes, in most cases:  The band and crew will work 10 - 18 hours, or more, on the day of your event.  Refreshments
and a meal helps to keep everyone in top performance condition.  (We eat more than our share of pizza!)

5.  What about dressing rooms?

Very nice!  We also use appropriate restroom and/or large closets when necessary.

6.  How long does it take for the band to set up the show?  Tear down the show?

Set up usually takes 2 - 3 hours, then we try to have a 'professional' sound check (30 - 60 minutes).
It usually takes 60 - 90 minutes to tear down the show and drive away.  Both set up and tear down times
are obviously dependent on the distance between the loading area and the stage location.

7.  Does the band require a sound check?

Yes.  We must 'tune' the band and the PA system to the room.
